Terms of Service

Last updated: August 29, 2026

1. About Green Tag

Green Tag is a web application that helps Canadian contractors and trades crews track worker safety certification expiries. The service lets a company account holder add their workers and certifications, upload documents, and receive automatic email reminders before certifications expire. By creating an account or using Green Tag, you agree to these terms.

2. Your account & responsibilities

When you create a manager account, you become the account holder for your company. As the account holder you are uploading personal information about your own employees or crew members. You are responsible for having the lawful authority and any necessary consent to collect and store that information under applicable Canadian privacy law, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). You are also responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.

3. Subscription & billing

Green Tag is a paid subscription service billed in Canadian dollars, monthly or annually (annual plans are billed once a year at a 20% discount):

  • Starter: $99 CAD per month, or $948 CAD per year ($79 CAD per month), for up to 10 workers.
  • Growth: $199 CAD per month, or $1,908 CAD per year ($159 CAD per month), for up to 25 workers.
  • Pro: $349 CAD per month, or $3,348 CAD per year ($279 CAD per month), for up to 50 workers.
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing for organizations with 50 or more workers.

You can cancel anytime from the Billing page. If your crew grows beyond your current tier’s worker limit, you may need to upgrade to the next tier. Payments are processed by Stripe, and Stripe’s terms apply to the transaction itself.

4. 14-day free trial

New companies get a 14-day free trial with full access — no credit card required. When the trial ends, the dashboard becomes read-only until a paid plan is started. Only one trial is available per company. Trial length is calculated in whole days from the moment the account is created.

5. Data ownership

You own your company’s certification data — the worker names, certificate details, and documents you upload. Green Tag stores and processes that data on your behalf so you can manage it in the app. We do not claim ownership of your company data, and we will not sell it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to provide accurate information, to use Green Tag lawfully, and not to misuse or overload the service. You are responsible for meeting your own obligations to your workers, including any notice or consent requirements under privacy and employment law. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service, or use it to store unlawful or infringing content.

7. Reminders & compliance responsibility

Green Tag sends certification expiry reminders by email on a best-effort basis — typically 60, 30, and 7 days before a certification expires. However, Green Tag does not guarantee that any reminder will be sent, delivered, or received. Email delivery can be affected by factors outside our control (for example spam filters, incorrect addresses, or outages). Green Tag is not liable for the failure to send or deliver a notification for any reason. You remain solely responsible for monitoring the validity of your workers’ certifications and for maintaining compliance with OHS, COR/SECOR, and any other regulatory requirements that apply to your business.

8. Limitation of liability

Green Tag is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Green Tag is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits or business opportunity, arising out of or related to the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid Green Tag in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Account termination

You can cancel your subscription or delete your account at any time from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access if these terms are violated, if your account is inactive for an extended period, or if payment is not received. When an account is deleted, the associated worker records, certifications, and uploaded documents are removed.

10. Dispute resolution & governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. If a dispute arises, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve it in good faith. If it cannot be resolved, it will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continuing to use Green Tag after a change means you accept the updated terms.
